Portfolio & Wallet
How the read-only wallet connection and portfolio intelligence work, and what they will never do.
Read-only by design
Connecting a wallet only shares your public address with CerinFI. CerinFI does not request asset approvals or transactions. The wallet layer (wagmi and viem) is loaded only after you choose Connect, never on the marketing site. Disconnect clears the connection state from this browser.
- Never requests seed phrases or private keys.
- Never requests token approvals, unlimited or otherwise.
- Never signs messages or executes transactions, automatically or on request.
- Supports injected EVM wallets (MetaMask, Rabby, Coinbase Wallet extension and other EIP-6963 wallets) on Robinhood Chain, Ethereum, Base and Arbitrum. WalletConnect and Solana wallets are not available yet.
What portfolio intelligence reads
For the connected address, CerinFI reads the native ETH balance and the balances of a curated list of major ERC-20 tokens on each supported chain through public RPC nodes (multicall). USD prices come from GeckoTerminal's token price endpoint. Each chain is read independently; a failing RPC is reported as unavailable and excluded from totals rather than hidden.
What is derived
Estimated value, asset weights, chain distribution and stablecoin exposure are derived from the observed balances and prices. Concentration uses the Herfindahl-Hirschman Index: the sum of squared percentage weights (0-10,000). Below 1,500 is diversified, 1,500 to 2,500 moderately concentrated, above 2,500 highly concentrated. The 24h movement is calculated only when tracked markets cover at least half of the priced value, using observed 24h price changes of the related markets; otherwise it is shown as not calculated.
Limitations
- Only curated tokens are detected. Other tokens, LP positions, staked assets and NFTs require an indexer and are not read.
- Balances below $0.01 are hidden.
- Prices can lag by a few minutes and unpriced positions are excluded from weights.
